07Dec2004 Four militants involved in U.S. consulate attack identified

Riyadh, 7th December 2004

The Saudi security authorities disclosed the identities of four of the assailants who attacked the U.S. consulate in Jeddah on Monday 6th December 2004.

An official source at the Interior Ministry said that all four of the men were Saudi citizens. Three of them - Fayez bin Owad Al-Juhani, Eid bin Dakheel-Allah Al-Juhani and Hassan bin Hamid Al-Hazimi - were killed. The fourth cannot be identified due to ongoing investigations.

The identity of the fifth man is under investigation.

The source denied reports that National Guard personnel were killed in the attack, although five sustained injuries.
