The Labour Ministry has embarked on a major program to find jobs for all qualified and unqualified unemployed Saudis.
According to Al-Madinah newspaper, the project was set up by the Ministry in cooperation with the General Organization for Technical Education and Vocational Training (GOTEVOT), the General Organization for Social Insurance and the Manpower Development Fund.
Forty-six committees have been established in various parts of the Kingdom, with a total of 1,357 personnel members to execute the program.
A media campaign will be launched to introduce the program and its objectives.
Arab News, which published the report, quoted Governor of GOTEVOT Dr Ali bin Nasser Al-Ghafees as saying that his organization would spend SR8.7 billion to train 100,000 young Saudis during the forthcoming five years.
Under the new program, all unemployed Saudis will be classified into two categories - qualified and unqualified - for jobs. The qualified will receive any required training and updating courses. The unqualified will participate in community service programs, military training, a national training program or a course at a private training centre in order to be trained for appropriate jobs.
