President of the General Corporation for Railways Eng. Khaled Bin Hamad Al-Yahya on Tuesday signed an SR53 million contract for the supply, operation and maintenance of 200 new two-tier cargo containers.
The ten-month contract with an American company includes measures for the training of Saudi cadres in the Kingdom and the United States in operation and maintenance skills for cargo containers.
The use of containers for transportation of cargo represents 60% of the Corporation’s income.
