Saudi Arabia’s exports of textiles and clothing were ranked fifth among twenty-three selected member countries of the Islamic Development Bank (IDB) in terms of growth, and fifteenth in terms of value, according to UN Comtrade figures, quoted by the Executive Director of the International Textiles and Clothing Bureau, Munir Ahmed.
Saudi Arabia’s exports increased from the value of $55 million in 1995 to $134 million in 2002 - a 13.6% increase. The majority of Saudi exports in 2002 went to the U.S. ($27 million) and the EU ($29 million).
