10May2004 Kingdom’s second international conference on bio-technology

Jeddah, 10th May, 2004

On behalf of Prince Abdulmajeed bin Abdul Aziz, the Governor of Makkah region, Prince Mishal bin Majed bin Abdul Aziz, the Governor of Jeddah, inaugurated here on Sunday evening the second international conference on bio-technology and its applications. The 3-day conference is organized by King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Center.

Speaking on the occasion, Professor Izzuddin Ibrahim, the Head of the conference's organizing committee, highlighted the significance of the conference and said 59 speakers will deliver lectures on the future of bio-technology and its applications.

For his part, Dr Sultan Bahabri, the Supervisor at the Jeddah-based hospital, said the participants of the conference will review a number of topics in the fields of heredity and infectious diseases and research experiments.

Dr Bahabri pointed out that the conference, which will bring together a number of scientists, academics, businessmen and students, will open new horizons for the Saudi medical sector and provide a good opportunity to exchange expertise in the field of bio-technology.
