The Follow-up Committee of the Saudi-Yemeni Cooperation Council held its third meeting at the conference palace in Riyadh.
Minister of Commerce and Industry Dr Hashim bin Abdullah Yamani led the Saudi delegation, and Yemeni Deputy Premier and Minister of Planning and International Cooperation Ahmed Mohammed Sofan led the Yemeni side.
Addressing the meeting, Yamani highlighted the achievements accomplished by the Council, including the SR75 million grant extended by the Saudi Development Fund to finance Yemen’s Social Development Fund projects, the SR50 million grant to finance the Aden hospital project, and a number of cooperation agreements. Yamani said that trade exchange between the two countries increased by 32% from a value of SR803 in 2001 to SR1,061 million in 2002.
