The Minister of Culture and Information, Dr Fouad bin Abdulsalam Al-Farsy, said that work commenced at the Television Transmission Centre of Jabal Khashab in Hail Region on Sunday.
Dr Al-Farsy said that the project consists of two television transmitters of one-kilowatt for transmission of Saudi Channels 1 and 2. The transmitters also will transmit Saudi radio programs on the FM-band.
Dr Al-Farsy noted that the project reflects the great support extended by Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Fahd bin Abdul Aziz, the Crown Prince and the Second Deputy Premier to media organisations and the Culture and Information Ministry for modernisation of Saudi television.
