The Minister of Commerce and Industry, Dr Hashim bin Abdullah Yamani, who is also Chairman of the negotiating delegation for the Kingdom’s accession to the World Trade Organization (WTO), today met with China’s Assistant Minister of Commerce and Chairman of the Chinese Delegation to the WTO, Yi Chiao Chon.
Following the meeting, the two sides signed a bilateral agreement on commodities and services, which was submitted by the Kingdom as part of efforts to join the WTO.
Dr Yamani expressed his appreciation of China for supporting the Kingdom’s bid to join the WTO. He pointed out that the Kingdom has signed thirty-one bilateral agreements with WTO members, and will sign four further agreements during forthcoming weeks.
