31Mar2004 Narcotics smuggler beheaded

Riyadh, 31st March 2004

Jarwan Bin Marhan Al-Abdan, a Saudi national, was beheaded on Wednesday after being convicted of smuggling narcotics into the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, an Interior Ministry statement announced.

The culprit was convicted by the Shariah Court, and the verdict was approved by the Cassation Court and the Supreme Judicial Council.

The statement reiterated the determination of the Saudi government to ensure law and order in the Kingdom and severely to punish criminals.
