25Mar2004 Investors in mining industry record $3 billion profits

Jeddah, 25th March 2004

Investors in Saudi Arabia’s mining industry recorded $3 billion profits for the year 2003, Deputy Minister of Petroleum and Minerals Sultan Al-Shawli told Al-Madinah newspaper.

Investors produced 206 tons of ores, revenues amounted to SR12 billion, and the number of mining permits issued reached 1,100. The total investment in the Kingdom’s mining sector exceeds SR25 billion.
