09Feb2004 Kingdom to participate in first Arab Conference on Air Safety

Amman, 9th February 2004

The first Arab Conference on Air Safety on Monday began deliberations with fourteen participating countries, including the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Addressing the conference’s inaugural session, Jordanian Minister of Transport Omar Hamid stressed the importance of enhancing cooperation among the countries of the region in the field of air navigation safety. He noted that the conference aims to shed light on the potential economic benefits of enhancing regional cooperation in the field of air transportation.

Participants of the four-day conference will review reports and studies on the means of ensuring safety and security in the field of air navigation and civil aviation.

The conference will be attended by senior officials of civil aviation companies working in the countries of the region, in addition to delegations representing the International Civil Aviation Organization.
