18Jan2004 Saudi Embassy urges Saudis to heed new requirements for U.S. visit visa

Riyadh, 18th January 2004

The Embassy of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in the United States of America urged Saudi citizens to be fully aware of the requirements of new U.S. visit visa in order to avoid being questioned by U.S. authorities when they arrive in the U.S.

The new system for the U.S. visit visa, which came into force this year, includes measures to take fingerprints and pictures of those who arrive in the country to construct files for individuals, according to an embassy statement. The system will check the information provided by U.S. consulates abroad regarding the individual upon entry to the U.S.

The Embassy urged Saudi citizens who would like to travel to the U.S. to conform to the system in order to avoid detention or questioning by the concerned American bodies.
