17Jan2004 Hajj Awareness Exhibition in Jeddah

Jeddah, 17th January 2004

Hundreds of people are visiting a large tent on the outskirts of Jeddah to attend a Hajj Awareness Exhibition and learn about rituals to be followed while performing Hajj. ”We want to teach pilgrims the correct way to perform Hajj, in accordance with the teachings of Islam,” said Sultan Bin Jaber Al-Rifayi, director of the Exhibition.

The Exhibition is organized by the Dawah (Call) and Guidance Department in Azizia district, under supervision of the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Endowments, Call and Guidance.

The Awareness Exhibition has been organized for the first time, following the directives of Prince Abdul-Majeed Bin Abdul Aziz, the Governor of Makkah, according to a report published today by the Jeddah-based Saudi Gazette.

The Exhibition began on 7 January and will continue until 29 January, corresponding to 7 Dhul Hijjah - a day before the beginning of Hajj.
