Saudi Aramco will inaugurate its Haradh Natural Gas and Oil Development Project on 18 January, according to company officials.
The recently completed project includes a gas plant capable of delivering 1.5 billion cubic feet of gas to the Kingdom’s Master Gas System and a gas-oil separator plant capable of stabilizing 300,000 barrels of crude oil per day, according to a report published today by Arab News.
Haradh Gas plant is Saudi Aramco’s second facility, which was built primarily to process large quantities of non-associated gas from gas reservoirs.
Aramco’s first facility was Hawiyah Gas Plant, which went on stream in 2002. In addition to delivering gas, Haradh Gas Plant has a design capacity to deliver 170,000 bpd of condensate to Saudi Aramco’s Abqaiq processing facility and can produce 90 tons of sulphur per day for export.
A statement from Saudi Aramco said that the Haradh Natural Gas and Oil Development Project will significantly boost economic growth in the country. Many industrial facilities, such as petrochemical units, electricity generation, and water desalination will benefit from the output of these facilities.
Saudi Aramco’s President and Chief Executive Officer, Abdullah S. Juma, said that Aramco’s three latest projects - Shaybah, Hawiyah and Haradh - show that the handling of huge projects has become a core competency of Saudi Aramco. “These state-of-the-art projects will contribute to the ongoing expansion of Saudi industry, further boost the Kingdom’s investment climate, and maintain Saudi Aramco’s reliability as a leading energy supplier to world markets,” he said.
