08Jan2004 Yamani hails attention given to commercial and industrial sectors

Makkah, 8th January 2004

The Minister of Commerce and Industry, Dr Hashim Yamani, highlighted the great attention accorded by the Saudi Government to the Kingdom’s commercial and industrial sectors, after he opened the Makkah branch of the Commerce and Industry Ministry.

He noted that a new industrial city will be established in Makkah, adding that the Kingdom’s industrial cities constitute one of the most important pillars upon which the national industry depends.

Dr Yamani said that the Kingdom’s industrial products have proven to be successfully competitive in international markets. He pointed out the many bilateral agreements the Kingdom has signed with other countries to pave the way for admission of Saudi Arabia to the World Trade Organization (WTO).
