02Jan2004 Six Saudi relief planes leave for Iran

Riyadh, 2 January, 2004

Six Saudi relief planes left today for Iran, five from Riyadh airbase airport and one from King Abdulaziz international airport in Jeddah. The planes were carrying 100 tons of equipment and medicine to equip the Saudi field hospital in Bam, south-eastern Iran.

This aid was sent on the directives of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Fahd bin Abdulaziz and Crown Prince Abdullah bin Abdulaziz, Deputy Premier and Commander of the National Guard to help the victims of the powerful earthquake which hit Iran last week.
