08Dec2003 Iraqi refugees leave Rafha camp

Rafha, Saudi Arabia, 8th December 2003

A group of 420 Iraqi exiles have left Rafha Refugee Camp (RRC) to return to Iraq after staying in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for thirteen years.

Commander of RRC Brigadier General Khalid Bin Fahd Al-Wesaifer said that the group of refugees is the twelfth to depart, under supervision of the UN Commission of Refugees Affairs.

He added that the government of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques has supplied the refugees with air-conditioned buses, baggage trucks, and security guards for their journey back to Iraq.
