An official source at the Interior Ministry today announced that authorities investigating the bombing incident at Al-Mohayya residential compound in Laban Valley, Riyadh, on 14th Ramadan 1424H, have identified two perpetrators of the bombing attack.
The source said that a terrorist group drove a white car in front of the compound at midnight on Saturday, threw hand grenades and fired shots at guards at the compound’s gate. A Toyota jeep, painted with the insignia of Saudi security forces and loaded with explosives, then entered the compound and was detonated in a suicide operation.
DNA tests have revealed the identity of two of the attackers: Ali bin Hamid Al-Maabadi Al-Harbi and Nasser bin Abdullah bin Nasser Al-Sayyari, both Saudi nationals, who are wanted in connection with security issues. Investigative authorities have found out who is responsible for the bombing, and are determined to apprehend the criminals.
The source added that the explosives used in the bombing weigh 300 kilograms, and were a mixture of explosive materials. Investigations have led to a rest house in Al-Dar Al-Baida district, in southern Riyadh, from which the operation was planned and organised. Equipment used to paint the car, including an electric paint sprayer, has been seized by authorities.
