The Ministry of Hajj will introduce new rules for issuing Hajj permits for expatriates and citizens in the Kingdom, according to Al-Madina newspaper.
The measure will prevent overcrowding during the Hajj season, when over two million pilgrims visit Makkah.
Dr Ahmad Al-Khalaf, Director of General Administration for Domestic Pilgrims at the Ministry of Hajj, said that new Hajj permits will be issued by internal Hajj establishments through Al-Mukhae Company and other authorities providing Hajj services, such as the Ministry of Hajj, the National Data Centre, the Civil Service Department, and The Passports Department. Al-Mukhae is a computer company that will process Hajj permits on a database.
Al-Khalaf said that under the new rules it will be mandatory for internal Hajj establishments and companies to sign a contract with one of Al-Mukhae’s sister companies, which include the Arab Company, the Arab Group Company for Services, the International Internet Company, and Al-Jeraisy Company.
Under the new system, internal Hajj establishments will provide pilgrims with accommodation and all other services throughout their Hajj. The pilgrim’s data should include his name, the serial number of his identity card, his campsite number, and the class of the service he is charged for.
