An official source at the Interior Ministry said that at 4am on Thursday morning, security forces investigated a suspected terrorist site in Al-Suwaidi quarter, Riyadh. When the security forces arrived at the site, members of the terrorist group attempted to flee whilst firing machine guns and throwing hand grenades.
The security forces reacted by returning fire at the militants. The shootout resulted in the death of one terrorist and minor injuries sustained by eight security officers. Further details of this incident will be announced imminently.
