01Feb2003 Prince Sultan Charity Foundation awarded international prize

The Prince Sultan bin Abdul Aziz Charity Foundation was awarded the prestigious King Faisal International Prize for the Service of Islam, it was announced here today.

The announcement was made by Prince Khalid Al-Faisal bin Abdul Aziz, Governor of Asir Region, who is also Director General of the King Faisal Charity Foundation and Chairman of the King Faisal International Prize panel since the 26th meeting of the Prize’s Award Committee.

Prince Khalid presided over the meeting in Riyadh tonight, on behalf of Prince Sultan bin Abdul Aziz, Second Deputy Premier, Minister of Defence and Aviation and Inspector General, who is also Chairman of the Prize’s Award Committee.

In a statement, Prince Khalid Al-Faisal highlighted the efforts of the Prince Sultan Foundation within and outside the Kingdom, particularly in Africa and Europe, to serve Islam.
