31Jan2003 Crown Prince Abdullah patronizes horse race for Abdul Aziz Cup

Al-Janadriya, Riyadh, 31st January 2003

On behalf of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Fahd bin Abdul Aziz, Crown Prince Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz, Deputy Premier and Commander of the National Guard, who is also Chairman of the Equestrian Club, tonight patronized the annual grand horse race for the late King Abdul Aziz bin Abdulrahman Al-Saud Cup for domestic horses.

The race was held at King Abdul Aziz Equestrian Field, Al-Janadriya, on the outskirts of the city of Riyadh.

Escorted by Prince Salman bin Abdul Aziz, Governor of Riyadh Region, and Prince Abdulilah bin Abdul Aziz, Crown Prince Abdullah was received by Prince Saud bin Abdulmohsin bin Abdul Aziz, Governor of Hael Region; Prince Sultan bin Mohammed bin Saud Al-Kabeer; Prince Mohammed bin Fahd bin Abdul Aziz, Governor of the Eastern Region; Prince General Mit’eb bin Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz, Assistant Deputy Commander of the National Guard; Prince Bandar bin Mohammed bin Saud Al-Kabeer; Prince Faisal bin Khalid bin Abdul Aziz; members of the Club’s Board of Directors, the Club’s Director General, Rashid Al-Zinaidi, and a number of officials.

Following the fifth race held for the King Abdul Aziz Cup for domestic horses, Crown Prince Abdullah handed a trophy to Prince Faisal bin Khalid bin Abdul Aziz, owner of the horse “Lamh Al-Basar”, which won the race.

The Crown Prince then graced a dinner party held in his honour to mark the occasion.

The race was also attended by Prince Fahd bin Saud Al-Kabeer; Prince Bandar bin Fahd bin Saad; Prince Faisal bin Abdullah bin Mohammed, Undersecretary of the National Guard for the Western Sector; Prince Khalid bin Faisal bin Turki bin Abdul Aziz; Prince Khalid bin Saud Al-Kabeer; Prince Yazeed bin Saud Bin Abdul Aziz; Prince Turki bin Badr bin Saud bin Abdul Aziz; Prince Fahd bin Turki bin Abdul Aziz; Prince Major Turki bin Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz; Prince Nawaf bin Faisal bin Fahd bin Abdul Aziz, Deputy President of Youth Welfare; other princes, ministers, senior civil and military officials, and a large crowd of spectators.
