13Jan2003 King Fahd issues order to host pilgrims

Riyadh, 13th January 2003

Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Fahd bin Abdul Aziz has issued an order that the Kingdom host 1,000 Muslims from South Africa, Senegal, Ghana, Albania, Poland, Japan and Latin America to perform Hajj at his own expense this year, as part of the hosting program executed by the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Endowments, Call and Guidance.

In a press statement, Sheikh Salih bin Abdul Aziz Al Al-Sheikh, the Minister of Islamic Affairs, Endowments, Call and Guidance and General Supervisor of the program, prayed to Almighty Allah to generously reward the King, the Crown Prince and the Second Deputy Premier for their support and attention to Muslims all over the world.

He praised the great efforts exerted by the Kingdom to serve Islam and Muslims, and to enhance Muslim solidarity.

The King has hosted 7,455 pilgrims of over 26 nationalities at his own expenses since the start of the program in 1417 H., he noted.
