The first group of Iranian pilgrims will depart for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on 20 January, said Director of the Iranian Customs Department, Masaud Kurbasy.
In press statement published in the conservative newspaper “Quds” on Monday, Kurbasy said that customs authorities would not allow pilgrims to take carpets, pistachio or saffron to the Kingdom.
He also pointed out that the customs authorities will prevent pilgrims from bringing large quantities of commodities back to Iran, adding: “They will be permitted to carry only two bags”.
