The French Cabinet ratified the final text of an agreement on investment promotion and protection, which was signed between the two countries in Jiddah last Rabia Al-Awal, 1423 H.
The French Foreign Minister, Dominique de Villepin, submitted the agreement to the Cabinet’s session, presided over by President Jacques Chirac, at the Presidential Palace here today.
The agreement is due to be referred to the French Parliament to be enacted as a law.
French economic experts stressed that the agreement would greatly enhance and promote French investment in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. It is estimated that there are 60 French companies operating in the Kingdom.
