06Jan2003 Palestinian Education Minister praises Kingdom

Ramallah, 6th January 2003

The Palestinian Minister of Education and Higher Education, Dr Naim Abu Al-Humos, expressed his appreciation of and thanks to Prince Naif bin Abdul Aziz, Minister of The Interior, who is also General Supervisor of the Saudi Committee for Supporting Al-Quds Intifadah, for Saudi aid to the Palestinian people, particularly to Palestinian Universities and thousands of their students.

In a statement to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), the Palestinian Minister said that over 11,000 University students benefited from generous Saudi aid, noting the Committee’s program for providing financial support to the Universities.

He said that, within the program, part of teachers’ and University employee salaries were paid at 11 Universities in the West Bank and Gaza Strip.
