A group of students from the Makkah-based University of Umm Al-Qura on Thursday visited the Jiddah branch of the World Assembly of Muslim Youth (WAMY) in order to acquaint themselves with the various charitable activities and projects that it carries out for the sake of youth in different parts of the world.

In a press statement, WAMY said that the students, who are members of the Islamic Awareness Committee at the University, toured different departments and sections of the establishment, including the education, projects and engineering, and propagation department, and the Islamic Medical Committee and Palestinian Committee, during which they were briefed in detail on the various duties of the departments.

The students also attended a lecture on “the responsibility of Muslims towards charity and voluntary work”. They also watched a video showing sorrows and miseries of Muslims across the world, particularly in occupied Palestinian territories, the statement said.

The visitors participated in an open discussion that touched on the role of Muslim youths in promoting and supporting charitable work.
